Applications open for the next Flight Operations Officer intake

Applications are now open for our August 2026 Flight Operations Officer intake. The previous intake filled before the closing date, so if you're considering FOO at Soma, this is the moment to get your application in.

The Flight Operations Officer course is our flagship six-month programme. It builds the skills airlines actually hire against: planning a commercial flight from the ground up, reading the weather, calculating weight and balance, filing the dispatch paperwork, and monitoring the flight from pushback to landing. Graduates leave with a SATC certificate that's recognised by airlines and ground handlers across the region.

We deliberately keep FOO classes small. Every student gets time with the instructor, every dispatch exercise is reviewed individually, and there's no back-of-the-room invisibility. The trade-off is that places fill quickly, which is what we mean when we say apply early.

Application is straightforward. Download the application form from the course page, complete it, attach your Form IV certificate, ID and a passport photo, and email or hand-deliver it to our admissions office. We'll be in touch within one working day. If you're unsure whether the course is right for you, our admissions team is happy to talk it through, no commitment.
