Aviation security is a shared responsibility. Whether you work at check-in, on the ramp, in cargo or in the back office, you have a role to play in keeping flights, passengers and colleagues safe.
This one-day awareness course gives every staff member a clear picture of current threats, the rules that govern aviation security, and the practical steps each role can take to make a difference.
Who this course is for?
- All airline, airport and ground handling staff.
- New hires requiring initial security awareness training.
- Existing staff due a refresher under the National Civil Aviation Security Programme.
What you'll be able to do
- Describe the current threat picture facing aviation.
- Explain the regulatory framework. ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Annex 17, TCAA (Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority).
- Recognise suspicious behaviour and items.
- Follow the correct reporting.
Entry requirements
- Open to all aviation staff, port staff and surface transport (transporters by air, sea and land).
- No prior qualifications required.

How often is Aviation Security Awareness refreshed?+
Initial training is followed by refresher training at intervals set by the National Civil Aviation Security Programme, typically annually for staff in security-sensitive roles.
