The objective of the Cargo Introductory Course is to:
Provide participants with a broad understanding of the air cargo industry.
Teach the fundamentals of cargo operations including procedures, regulations, and documentation.
Introduce IATA rules and standards such as those outlined in the IATA Cargo Handling Manual (ICHM) and the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
Equip learners with knowledge of industry terminology, handling procedures, and responsibilities in the air cargo supply chain.

New to the air cargo industry or looking to start a career in air cargo.
Employees of freight forwarders, ground handling agents, or airlines.
Staff involved in cargo reservations, acceptance, documentation, handling, or warehouse operations.
Individuals preparing for more advanced cargo or logistics training.
Module 1 – 5: 1 full day course per module. Excludes presentation assessment
Up to 6 months to complete.
Final Exam
Format: Multiple-choice questions
Delivery: Online (At Soma Aviation's classroom)
Duration: Typically 2–3 hours
Passing Grade: Usually 70% or above
An IATA Certificate will be issued after successful completion of the course.
