Cargo Introductory

The course is designed to provide foundational knowledge about air cargo operations

Course Objectives

The objective of the Cargo Introductory Course is to:

  • Provide participants with a broad understanding of the air cargo industry.

  • Teach the fundamentals of cargo operations including procedures, regulations, and documentation.

  • Introduce IATA rules and standards such as those outlined in the IATA Cargo Handling Manual (ICHM) and the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).

  • Equip learners with knowledge of industry terminology, handling procedures, and responsibilities in the air cargo supply chain.

This course is ideal for individuals who are:

  • New to the air cargo industry or looking to start a career in air cargo.

  • Employees of freight forwarders, ground handling agents, or airlines.

  • Staff involved in cargo reservations, acceptance, documentation, handling, or warehouse operations.

  • Individuals preparing for more advanced cargo or logistics training.

Module 1 – 5: 1 full day course per module. Excludes presentation assessment

Up to 6 months to complete.

  • Final Exam

    • Format: Multiple-choice questions

    • Delivery:  Online (At Soma Aviation's classroom)

    • Duration: Typically 2–3 hours

    • Passing Grade: Usually 70% or above

An IATA Certificate will be issued after successful completion of the course.
